IAPHS is the sole owner of the information collected on the Site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement.
1) Requests for Information and Other User Communications
If you contact IAPHS through the site, sign up for an email distribution list, apply for membership, or make a donation to IAPHS, we will ask for information such as your name, email address, and other contact information. We may ask for other information at other times. We may use this information to customize your experience on the Site, to respond to your request for information, to improve Site content, to understand use of the Site, and to provide you with email notifications related to the business and governance of the Association. We may retain your communications to process your inquiries, respond to your requests, acknowledge your contributions, and improve our services.
When you apply to become a member of IAPHS, we ask for additional information such as your professional affiliations, training, expertise, and interests. We may use this information to better understand our membership and how best to serve your needs. With certain exceptions detailed below, we will also make this information publicly available in a searchable directory. The exceptions are: 1) any information marked “confidential” on the membership application and 2) all information pertaining to individuals who have opted out of the directory listing.
2) Browsing Information and Cookies
When you access the Site, our servers automatically record information that your browser provides. This may include, among other things, your Internet Protocol address, web request, browser type, the date and time of your request, web pages visited, files accessed, and one or more cookies that uniquely identify your browser (see below).
Use of Information
We use the information collected for the following purposes, in addition to those described above: tailoring the Site to user needs and improving our service; generating data and reports about usage of the Site and its content; supporting the functioning and security of the Site and our network and systems; identifying members with specific skills, interests, and other characteristics to conduct the business of the association; protecting our rights, property, or safety or those of others; and research.
We do not link IP addresses to any personally identifiable information. At no time do we disclose site usage by individual visitors or individual IP addresses.
We may evaluate site usage by analyzing user information and demographics, but only to generate aggregate statistical reports.
This Site’s content is not intended to attract children under 13 years of age and we will not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If you are under 13 years of age, you should not use the Site.
This Site has security measures in place to help protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. However, we cannot guarantee that those security measures will be effective.
This Site may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites.
