Jennifer Dowd

Dr. Jennifer Beam Dowd is Associate Professor of Demography and Population Health at the University of Oxford and studies mortality trends and how social factors “get under the skin” to impact health, including via infections and immune function. She is also Deputy Director of the Leverhulme Centre for Demographic Science at Oxford and received her PhD training in Demography and Economics from Princeton University. She did post-doctoral training in Epidemiology at the University of Michigan as a Robert Wood Johnson Health and Society Scholar. Jenn’s research on COVID-19 has been published in leading journals including the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Nature Human Behaviour and Nature Medicine. Jenn grew up in Nebraska and Texas (loving football) and currently lives in London with her husband and three teenage children. She loves data and country music.
