José A. Pagán, Ph.D.
IAPHS StaffJosé A. Pagán, Ph.D., is Director of the Center for Health Innovation at The New York Academy of Medicine and Professor in the Department of Population Health Science and Policy at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is a former Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health & Society Scholar with expertise in health economics and health services research. Dr. Pagán received his PhD in economics from the University of New Mexico and he is also Adjunct Senior Fellow of the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Pagán has served as a consultant on health insurance coverage for the Institute of Medicine and is a member of the National Advisory Committee of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health & Society Scholars Program. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the American Society of Health Economists. Dr. Pagán has led projects funded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, Department of Defense, and National Institutes of Health. He was also Professor and Chair of the Department of Health Management and Policy, School of Public Health, University of North Texas Health Science Center.
