Kaylee Wilson completed the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Antiracism (IDEA) fellowship at Dornsife School of Public Health at Drexel. (July 30, 2024)
Sandro Galea won the Wade Hampton Frost Lectureship Award from the American Public Health Association.
Publications
Kaitlin Jackson and Rita Hamad published an article in Public Health Nutrition. Their research found less food insufficiency and reduced anxiety symptoms among SNAP-eligible recipients, estimating the effect of the 15% increase in benefits. (August 2024)
Rae Anne Martinez responded to dialogue on her American Journal of Epidemiology article, “Race, ethnicity and racism in epidemiological research: Perspectives from Public Health Critical Race Praxis (PHCRP).”
Whitney Wells, Kaitlyn Jackson, Cindy Leung and Rita Hamad published an article in Health Affairs. Their research found that when COVID-era SNAP benefits expired, food insufficiency worsened. (October 2024)

Maria Glymour recently received a $28.8 million grant. Glymour will study dementia, including risk factors, treatment, and prevention, leading the Triangulation of Innovative Methods to End Alzheimer’s Disease project at Boston University School of Public Health. (September 2024)
Rita Hamad discussed child poverty and health with Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. (September 10, 2024)
Helen Meier presented on systemic inflammation and biological aging at the GSA 2024 in Seattle. (November 14, 2024)
