Dr. Sandra Albrecht is an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology in the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University. Her research focuses on the socio-cultural and neighborhood-level factors that contribute to the high burden of nutrition-related diseases in US immigrants and among Latinos including type 2 diabetes, exploring the role of ethnic enclaves in shaping nutrition-related outcomes and working to improve access to quality care and affordable, healthy food. She is Chief Epidemiologist for Dear Pandemic and an Associate Editor of the Dear Pandemic Facebook page.
