Alicia Riley

Alicia Riley is a T32 Postdoctoral Scholar in Aging and Chronic Disease at UC San Francisco in the Glymour Research Group. She is also an incoming Assistant Professor of Sociology and Global and Community Health at UC Santa Cruz (starting July 2021). Alicia studies how social inequity turns into health inequity and how the health effects of structural inequality can be modified through policy. In addition to her research and teaching on health inequities, she has a longstanding involvement in struggles for im/migrant rights as an advocate. Alicia completed her PhD and MA in Sociology at University of Chicago, her MPH in Epidemiology/Biostatistics at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, her MA in Latin American Studies at Stanford University, and her BA in Human Biology from Stanford University.
