Building Bridges to Improve Population Health a Resounding Success

The first IAPHS collaborative meeting, held at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington DC on Sept 28-29, 2015 drew a capacity crowd. Highlights included plenaries featuring distinguished leaders and rising stars in population health reflecting on challenges and breakouts highlighting emerging research on such as health disparities, mental health, obesity, place-based research, public policy and new technologies. The Building Bridges conference was supported by generous funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and held in collaboration with the Population Research Institute at Penn State University, the Institute for Policy and Social Research at the University of Kansas, and the Institute of Medicine Roundtable for Population Health Improvement.
