Purpose:
The J. Michael McGinnis Leadership Excellence Award honors a leader whose outstanding accomplishments, commitment, values and contributions best reflect the mission of IAPHS to advance population health science through science, translational activities and mentoring. The award is given to an individual who has made significant leadership contributions to improving population health and equity through research translation, health policy or academic research.
Criteria:
Candidates will be assessed on their leadership, contributions and accomplishments to advancing population health science, including:
- Contributions to population health science
- Commitment to translation of research into policy or practice
- Demonstrated impact or accomplishments
- Exemplifies values of integrity, collaboration and commitment to diversity
- Role as a mentor
Eligibility:
Nominee: IAPHS member. Nominations for academic and non-academic awardees welcome.
Applicants may not self-nominate.
Award Recognition:
Award recipient will receive a $1,000 honorarium or funds can be used for expense reimbursement to attend the conference. Award winners will be recognized in the opening plenary session of the conference.
