Dr. Walsemann is a population health scientist whose research focuses on understanding how social inequities influence health and health disparities across the life course. She is particularly interested in how experiences within the education system shape individuals’ physical and mental health, independent from and in relation to other forms of social inequities such as race/ethnicity, gender, and social class. Her scholarship aims to redefine and expand this field by asking innovative questions about the relationship between education and health and answering those questions using a life course perspective and advanced methodological techniques.
