Ililya Gutin has joined the Syracuse University Lerner Center as a research affiliate.
Shannon Monnat and Jennifer Karas Montez were each awarded 5-year, $1.9 million grants from the National Institute on Aging to co-lead research networks. Monnat is a co-principal investigator on the Interdisciplinary Network on Rural Population Health and Aging (INRPHA). Montez is a co-principal investigator and Monnat is a co-investigator on the Network on Life Course Health Dynamics and Disparities. (Syracuse University Lerner Center, August 29, 2024)

Sandro Galea in the American Journal of Epidemiology: Lower incomes, younger age, and COVID-19 were risk factors for generalized anxiety disorder among low-resourced individuals. (August 9, 2024)
Emma Zang in the Journal of Family Issues: “Among parents employed pre-pandemic and mothers of young children who had a job exit during COVID-19, receiving informal childcare was associated with longer work hours in December 2020.” (June 1, 2024)
News & Highlights
Rita Hamad and team released a new nationwide database of US COVID-19 County Policies (UCCP). This database is publicly available for research and policy. (June 11, 2024)
Shannon Monnat and Jennifer Karas Montez are featured in an article on Syracuse University Stories. The article talks about their work as co-directors of the Policy, Place, and Population Health (P3H) Lab at Syracuse. (July 29, 2024)
