About Ofeibea Asare
Ofeibea Asare is a Ghanaian woman who is passionate about Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) issues especially among young people and persons in humanitarian and fragile settings. She holds an MPH (Health Promotion and Education) and B.A. in Publishing Studies from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi Ghana.
She is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) from the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, INC., USA, and a Cambridge Reproductive Health Consultants’ Research fellow to Thailand. Ofeibea worked as the Research and Career Development Manager at the College of Health Sciences, KNUST, in Ghana.
Ofeibea is currently a final year Ph.D.(c) in Population Health at the University of Ottawa, Canada. Her research focuses on contraception, emergency contraceptives, medication abortion, self-managed abortion in humanitarian and fragile settings, health communication/information, health promotion and education, Adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH), action research, and co-creation. She also serves as a reviewer for peer-review journals and abstracts for International Conferences.
