The Institute for Population Research (IPR) is a multi-disciplinary research center that nurtures population and health research at The Ohio State University. IPR serves as a bridge between behavioral and biomedical departments at OSU; fosters collaborative, multidisciplinary research projects; and mentors and trains junior scholars.IPR is funded through a P2C center grant from the Population Dynamics Branch at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institutes of Child Health and Human Development as well as through internal funding from Ohio State University.

Allen Mallory is an assistant professor in Human Development and Family Science at The Ohio State University. His primary research interests include the risk and protective factors for the health and well-being of sexual and gender-diverse people, intersectionality and health, and couples’ sexual communication.
Sarah Hayford is professor of sociology and Director of the Institute for Population Research at Ohio State University. Hayford is a social demographer who studies childbearing, reproductive health, and the transition to adulthood in the United States and in sub-Saharan Africa.
