Marino A. Bruce, PhD, MSRC, MDiv is Associate Director of the Center for Research on Men’s Health, Director of the Program for Research on Faith and Health within the Center, and Research Associate Professor of Medicine, Health, and Society at Vanderbilt University. As a social and behavioral scientist, he is interested in the integration of the full range of health determinants for African American males and their risk factors for chronic kidney disease and cardiovascular disease. His current program of research exploring the intersection of faith, race, gender and behavior and their collective implications for social and health outcomes among African American boys and men. Dr. Bruce is also Science Director for two research training and mentoring programs designed to increase the pool of investigators from underrepresented backgrounds. He has over a decade of experience working with early career faculty and investigators to establish and maintain programs of research in a variety of academic settings.
