Motivation / Achieve |
I want to pursue a non-academic, but still a research-based, career. I would like to make connections and network toward this goal. I would also like to continue learning how to best communicate research to non-academic audiences. My background is in environmental health and exposure science, though I also have training in my PhD experience with epidemiology. It is important to me to be paired with another woman, and preferably someone who identifies as LGBTQ+ (though I am straight-presenting). It is also important to me to be paired with someone who specializes in environmental health regarding chemicals, identifying chemical exposures, and/or environmental epidemiology. If there is someone on your mentor list who regularly does research but also connects with communities and/or policy organizations regarding environmental health issues, that is something that is also very important to me. I would rather not be paired with anyone than have a bad match! |
