INTRODUCTION
The Academy was originally established at the University of Mississippi in 1974, under the full title of "The American Academy for the Promotion of Scientific Research. It remained a research student society for several years under the leadership of of noted concert Pianist Dr. Parks Grant.

Section I – Arts
Edward J. Emering, F.S.P.A. (USA) is the author of Orders, Decorations and Badges of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the National Front for the Liberation of South Vietnam: A Photographic Reference. He has also done photographic layouts for other best sellers. He is known world-wide for his journalistic and art style relating to medals and orders.

The EKG, Temperature and Stress Room is just up the hall from the Meditation facility.
An electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG, abbreviated from the German Elektrokardiogramm) is a graphic produced by an electrocardiograph, which records the electrical activity of the heart over time. Its name is made of different parts: electro, because it is related to electrical activity, cardio, Greek for heart, gram, a Greek root meaning "to write". The abbreviation "EKG" is preferred over the more straightforward "ECG" in oral communication, because the latter may be misheard as EEG. [Wikipedia]
Research Room I
The society has two large research rooms in which clients are evaluated. Research Lab. I is off from the chemical laboratory.
Laboratory I is for meditation tests, dream research and consulting. The walls to the room are sound proof and there is a control panel which controls sound and lighting as well as a choice of 20 various nature sounds including rain, ocean nature, trains, thunder and many others. The room is equiped with a Velocity Micro Rapture computer and numerous testing equipment.
This is also where our staff conducts tests using EMG and EEG research equipment. This information is helpful to the researchers running tests outside the office or in a distance setting. The facility and equipment is also available to rent by non-members.
